St. Francis Church : St. Francis Church was the first European Church to be built in India and Fort Cochin is believed to be the oldest European Settlement in India. Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace) : Also known as Dutch Palace, the Mattancherry palace with its medieval attraction is situated at Palace Road, Mattancherry,10 km from Ernakulam city, Kochi, Kerala. It was called the Dutch Palace after the Dutch made some renovations and addition on it. The Palace is also known for the Kerala murals depicting Hindu temple art, other paintings and remains of the kings. The palace is elegantly done up with paintings depicting different mythological scenes and scenes from great Sanskrit works.
Cherai Beach : Cherai Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Kerala bordering the end of Vypeen Island, is located about 26 km from Ernakulam city, Kochi. Pareekshith Thampuran Museum is more famous known as the Durbar Hall in Kochi. This museum addresses 19th century Mughal oil paintings; astonishing collection of old coins and sculptures. Thripunithura : Thripunithura is known as ‘the land of temples’. Thripunithura is a small satellite town, located southeast of Kochi. The main attractions is the first ever Heritage museum in Kerala. During Onam festival, one of the famous ceremonies "Atha Chamayam" takes place in this town. There are many other temples in the regon of Thripunithura. One of the famous temples in the area is Thamaramkulangara Sree Dharma Sastha temple, where the deity is Dharmasastha, in the form of Lord Dhanwanthari Moorthy.
Parur : Parur is a small town surrounded by the Lakshadweep sea and two beautiful backwaters, namely Paravur Kayal and Edava- nadayara Kayal is one of the most beautiful places in Kochi in Kerala. The local food, very peculiar particular made from tapioca and fish are cheap and delicious. There is a temple of goddess Mookambic, a Syrian Orthodox Church, a synagogue, a Krishna Temple and place of Brahmins.
Chennamangalam : Chennamangalam is located 4 km from Kochi and well known for the famous Jewish Synagogue. Main attraction is the Paliam palace, once the residence of the Maharajahs of Kochi, The hills at Kottayi Kovilakom, 16th century mosque and Hindu Temple overlooking River Periyar. Edappally : Edappally constitute of remarkable paintings and sculptures. This museum gives a glance of the past era of Kerala. The museum is opened from Tuesday to Sunday from 10- 12 A.M and 2-4 P.M.
